Art Class at The Art Room – Week 3: Symmetry in Art (2nd & 3rd Grade) 🎨🖤✨

This week, we’re exploring the magic of symmetry—where both sides of a design are a perfect match! Our featured project is Inkblot Creatures, a fun, imaginative activity where students will:

✨ Fold paper in half and apply bold blobs of paint
✨ Press, open, and reveal their perfectly symmetrical inkblot
✨ Use markers to transform their inkblot into a creature, insect, alien, or anything they can imagine

Along the way, they’ll learn:

• How symmetry works in art and nature

• How to combine painting with drawing for a mixed-media effect

• How to bring a random shape to life with creative details
